What We Believe

We hold the Bible to be God's word, the only source of our faith and practice. Our objective is to "restore" the New Testament church in our time - to determine from the Bible what the church was like in the beginning, and to be like that. We believe this is a worthy and reverent goal. When you come to visit us, you may be interested to know what our worship assembly is like. We'll walk you through a typical worship assembly.

A Message from Eric: Challenge 2010

Study the Bible and Seek the Lost in 2010!

If you were not able to read the Bible through this year, don't worry--you are not alone. I was not able to make it either. But I am not going to give up. I hope you will try again this next year with me. You can choose to read through the Bible in 2010, there are Bible reading plans in the foyer, or you can choose to read and study a couple of chapters a day.

The Challenge

This year let's try to do more than just read the Bible, let's try to study it. If you were like me there were days that I just read the Bible reading to get it done for the day. On those days I felt bad because I did not take the time to study the word. It is much more important for us to study the Bible every day, even if it is just 1 or 2 chapters a day, than just saying we read through the Bible in a year. Aplying the Bible to our lives will be much more transforming than just reading it.

The Plan

I am going to take some time every morning to read and pray before I start my day. You may choose to do it at lunch time or at night. During my prayer time I will be praying for specific people who I want to tell about Christ. I encourage you to do the same thing. Choose 5 people and begin praying for them as well as finding opportunities to talk to them about Christ. Make a list of these people and put it in your wallet or on your mirror so you are reminded of those people. Include other Christians in praying for these people as well. Look for opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the lost souls in our area. God has already been opening doors for us that seemed impossible. He will continue to do great things if we would just allow Him to use us. I hope you will join me in studying the Bible & seeking the lost in 2010!

Thought for the Day

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?

"Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth."

1 John 3:16-18 (NIV)
